Whistleblower is a former derby skater, but opted out of playing roller derby for the time being due to health reasons. Refereeing is a way that Whistleblower continues to enjoy derby and skating from the outside looking in. Plus, he likes to boss people around!

Surf officiates off-skates because he loves being involved in one of the greatest and most accepting communities without having to actually play derby itself. He wants you to know that you can still be involved even if you're scared to skate!
